Portο Montenegro Northern Village
is a contemporary residential landscape shaped by community, horizon and nature. Structured as three distinct yet interconnected enclaves, the development explores different ways of inhabiting the Montenegrin coast, from communal living and seafront experiences to more intimate, landscape-driven retreats.
The masterplan is organised around a pedestrian-first network of plazas, gardens and shaded pathways that connect the site while fostering social interaction and everyday wellbeing. Built volumes are carefully positioned to frame views towards the Bay of Kotor, maximise daylight and create a sequence of open and sheltered outdoor spaces.
Architecture and landscape are conceived as a unified system. Articulated massing, planted terraces and generous outdoor living areas establish a seamless relationship between interior and exterior, while ensuring privacy through orientation, layering and carefully calibrated spatial thresholds.
A timeless palette of stone, textured mineral finishes, timber and native Mediterranean planting grounds the project within its Adriatic setting. Green roofs, landscape buffers and passive environmental strategies further reinforce the connection between built form and nature.
Northern Village is designed as a living fabric, a collection of places shaped by light, material warmth and the enduring presence of the landscape.
Developed as part of an invited design competition for Porto Montenegro, the proposal represents a conceptual vision for the future development of the Northern Village, exploring contemporary approaches to Mediterranean living, community and landscape integration.
